General questions
What does Teambug do?Teambug not only allows you to message your players, but delivers lots more. It's the ultimate tool to help you manage your team online. It's a place to store your players contacts details, fixture information along with all other relevant information that you need to run and manage your team successfully. You can create your own team website and team mobile site so you can publish match results, fixtures, manage player statistics, chat with your team and even upload pictures for you and your team to share. Organising a sports team . Who is Teambug for?It's for anyone who organises teams and wants to manage a team online. Whether you are a manager, organiser, parent or infact anybody who is responsible for running and organizing people. Teambug saves you time, saves you money, stores the information and makes team management so much easier. Teambug is also for the team as it enables teammates to communicate, coordinate, and collaborate in ways that are both fun and time-saving. If you play sports, you can keep up to date with fixtures on your mobile or online, and make sure you never miss a match. Can I customize my sports Team Website?Absolutely. It's one of the key features of the online sports management tools. Simply select "customise" in the team management site and use our simple tools to change the colour of the site to match your team colours, create and add a team logo, add team images, text about your site, add manager comments, upload team photos, and even speak to your team privately via our TeamTalk. Can I add anyone to my team?Of course, but all players, MUST accept your invite to join. We don't want people spammed!! They accept, by responding YES or NO by text or email. So, only people who you want to be in your team need accept. I manage two teams can I have two accounts?Yes of course. You can have as many accounts as you like. Fill your boots! Can players be in multiple teams that use Teambug?Yes - Players can certainly be in more than one team. In fact, using our interactive sports manager should make your active lifestyle much easier to handle. All you will need to do is invite your sports team or accept your invitation as a player as normal. Can I use Teambug to run my team website for the club?Yes, Teambug is currently designed to manage individual teams. So you could use Teambug for each team at your club. Can I use Teambug if I am not in the UK?Yes and No. Teambug works in all countries however, mobile messaging is only supported in the UK at the moment. We are rolling the service out to over 27 countries in the next few months. So you can use Teambug with email now, soon email and mobile in all countries! Watch this space. Can I send email and text messages?Absolutely - Whether you or your players prefer to communicate by text message or email - either way, Teambug works. The great thing with Teambug is that you can reach your players wherever they are and whatever they do. You also get a record of what, when and who you sent the message to - No more, opportunity for your players to say they never got your message!! What is the difference between "Invite Player" and "Compose" messages?
Why can I not edit the "invite messages"?The reason we do this is because we need to ensure the players have a consistent message (time / location / response) and also know how to respond. This feature is crucial to your online sports team management - we want to avoid any confusion and make a breeze for you to manage your team using email and SMS. How do I send messages to my players?If you want to message all of your players, simply click "Messaging" from either the "Players section" or from "Messaging" found on the header bar. Then follow the simple steps My player has told me they can't play. Do they still need to email/text me a response to play a game?No, you can override and record the players status. Simply click the player status icon on the team sheet and then select the appropriate new status from the drop down list. Can I view all messages that I have sent to my players?Absolutely - Just click "sent messages" and you will see all messages that have ever been sent. Follow the links to see the whole message and recipients. I have run out of text messages - What do I do?Just select "Messaging" and select "Add Text messages" - Simple choose the number of additional text messages you require and pay for them using a debit or credit card. How do I invite my selected team to play?When you save your team sheet, you are automatically presented with a messaging view. Click "Invite player", simply follow the steps. Can I add additional players at anytime?Yes - You can keep adding players and inviting them to play right up to the day of the match. You cannot invite players to play once the fixture dates have passed - just like managing a sports team in real time. What is the difference between Message, Invite and Remind payers?
Responding to manager messages
What happens once I have invited my players?Teambug sends email and/or text messages to all of your players. Each player responds by replying YES or NO. The messages are received by Teambug's online sports management software and acceptance or declined icons will be added to the players name on the team sheet. If the player does not respond the players status will remain amber (awaiting response). Some players did not reply - what should I do?Simply click "remind" and a list of all players who have not responded can be easily messaged again. A player has told me they can't play - can I record this without him/her replying?Yes. Select the team sheet and click "Status Icon" for that player. You can override the system and change the player to accepted or declined. How can I message the players on a team sheet?Simple - Select the correct team sheet and click "messaging". You can now send your own personal message to just the players for that fixture. Remember only the first 160 characters will be sent to the mobile phones by text. I have run out of text messages - What can I do?Just select messaging and select "Add Text messages", then simply choose the number for additional text messages you require and pay for them using a debit or credit card. Can I send my own messages?Yes. We call these "Custom messages". Just select the players you wish to message and then type your message in the message box. Remember you can only send a maximum of 160 characters by text message. That's not us, it's the mobile networks!! Can I write more if I only use email?Yes, you can write as much as you wish. Just remember those with a mobile will only receive the first 160 characters. Can I send my players a web link to our Team website?Certainly - We have made it really easy! Just select, "messaging" select who you want to message and then click the appropriate button "web url or mobile url. This automatically adds a pre-populated text and urls into your message. We suggest sending the Web Link by email only to avoid confusion. Note: Most phones do not view web sites very well. We have specifically created the Mobile url for mobiles. Can I see who and what I sent my players?Yes. Listed in the "view message" form is the contents of the message, a list of the players who received the message, and the time/date it was sent. Player information
What information can I add about a player?Using the online sports management tools, you can record: name, contact details, preferred playing position, skill level, a brief description, player photograph and any managers notes to assist you in team selection and organising your team online. Do I need an Email and Mobile Number for each player?If you only have one contact detail, then that's fine. The player can respond using text or email. You can add the additional information when you have it. Can I print a list of my players?Of course - you can print out team sheets for games, and the list of your entire team list, together with their contact details. You can even export the list to excel for editing. Can I add a photo of the player?Of course - Just locate the required image on your PC. If the image is too big, you will also be able to crop the image using Teambug's image cropping tool. Can I record my players' positions?Yes - We have already pre-populated positions for every sport, just select from the drop down menus provided. You can change the position on the team sheet if you need to. Can I select a skill level for each player?Yes - We have a simple 5 star system. Just select the appropriate number of stars for the player and it will help you record each player's abilities and aid selection. This is private and is only intended to help you - as the official online manager/organiser for your team - to pick the correct players for your match. Can skill levels and managers notes be seen by anyone else?No - Only the online manager/organiser can see this information. My player does not have a mobile phone. Can I add him/her?Absolutely - If you only have an email address, then just send emails! My player does not have an email address. Can I add him/her?Absolutely - if you only have a mobile number, just send text messages! I don't have a mobile number or an email address for the player. What do I do?You can simply add as much information as you can and then add the rest at a later date. NOTE. Each player MUST accept to join Teambug for you to be able to include the players in team sheets etc. Acceptance to join your team can only be achieved if we receive a response by text or email from your player Can I temporarily change my player's position for a match?Yes, simply click on your players' position in the team sheet and select a new position. This new position will not override the players default position. How do I record my player's performance for a match?In the "results" section of the sports management tool, select "GO" and this will take you to your results page for that fixture. From here click "Performance" and then enter the relevant information for your players' performance. Can I add a Man/Player of the Match?Yes - Just click "Results/Man of the Match" and you will be taken to the results form. Add or edit your player of the match here. Players can see if they have been selected for this accolade on the front page of their team website. Is Player Performance made public?Yes - All information regarding performance and player of the match is published to your team sites. Team colours and logos appear in the pop-up window but are not being printed. How can I fix this?Depending on your browser (e.g Internet Explorer) you need to change the page set up, or advanced options to allow printing of background colours and images. Fixtures
Can I add my team's fixtures?Absolutely. Teambug is designed for logging, storing and communicating team fixtures to your players. Simply add, Time, Date, Home/Away, Opponents name, Location and click save. All fixtures are published automatically to your sports team website. Do I need to add a postcode and a town?Yes you need at least one. A postcode will give you better mapping and weather forecast information. A town will only provide basic information. My recently played game is no longer on the fixture list. Where is it?Once a date for a game has passed the game automatically moves to the "Results" section. Just click "Results" and you will see the fixture awaiting you to add results and player performance. Can I add results for a played game?Yes, simply select "Results", select the appropriate fixture and add results for that game. Can the team see the Fixture list and associated information?Absolutely - All information you enter will be published to your team website and mobile site. There is no excuse for your players not knowing the time and locations of your next match!! I don't know the postcode for the fixture. Is that a problem?No. We use the postcode to generate mapping and weather forecast information. If you don't know the postcode the system will use the city name instead. Can I get weather reports for the fixture?Yes - Teambug auto generates a 5 day weather forecast for the fixture. Can I get maps and directions to fixtures?Yes - As long as you add a postcode / town for the match location, Teambug will auto generate a map for the fixture location. Can I change my player status, without him/her sending a reply?Yes, simply click on your player status and change status to the required setting. Recording match statistics
Can I record my team results?Of course - When the date for the fixture has passed your fixture will move to the "Results" page. Simply click the "Status" icon and you can add your results. What information can I add for results?Quite a lot actually! - Add the result (won, draw, lost), the score, select player of the match, add comments and post comments to your players for them to review privately on the team web and mobile sites. Can I record how my players performed?Oh yes. Simply click the "performance" icon for that fixture and you will be presented with your players for that match. What is the difference between Team Sheet and Player List when selecting player of the match?The Team Sheet List is the finalised list of players who accepted your invite to the match. The Player List is a complete list of all other players in your squad. Can I select a player of the match?Yes - Just select from the appropriate drop down (fixture team sheet, players list) and that player will be published along with your match comments to the team site (web and mobile). If a photo is available for the player, then that will also be published to the team site. Can I add comments about the match?Yes. Team managers can use Teambug to provide crucial team feedback. Use Match Report to comment on the match and how you think you played. Use Man of the Match Comments to specifically comment on your best performer. Both of these comments will be published on you team site(s). Selecting players
How can I select a team for a fixture?Simply select a fixture and click "Team Sheet", then add your players to your team sheet. Ensure you save your selection! What's the Team Formation picker?Its a simple drag and drop system for picking players for the game whilst putting them in the required position on the pitch. This allows you to visually pick your team using interactive technology and it makes organising your team easy. The formation picker for my sport is not available?Each formation picker is specifically created for each sport. We are adding formation pickers for each sport over the coming weeks. How do I use the formation picker to select my team?Simply drag your players from the team list onto the pitch/court and position them accordingly in the pre-marked yellow positions. Click "save" when you team selection is complete. Not all of my players are in the team list. Why?All players MUST accept your invitation to join your team. It avoids unwanted messaging. You will need to remind your players to respond. Only those who reply YES will be listed here and can, therefore, be picked. Creating your team websites
How can I personalise / customise my sports team website?It's very easy. Simply select "customise" and use the left hand navigation and Add/Edit buttons to create your own team site(s). You can change the colour of the site to match your team colours, create and add a team logo, add team images, text about your site, add manager comments, upload team photos, and even speak to your team privately via our TeamTalk. What things should I say about the club?Hey, that's your thing. Most people write about who they are, who's in the team and when they started. If you have team ambitions here's the place to tell the world. Can I easily view the team website from the customise pages?Yes - Simply click "View Website" and your team site (web) will appear in a separate window so you can see how it appears to the public. How can I see how my team website looks on my mobile phone?Simply click "View Mobile Site" and your team site (mobile) will appear in a separate window so you can see how it appears to the public. Do I need a special phone to view the team website on my mobile?No not really - It does need to be colour, internet or WAP enabled. Most phones nowadays are up to this specification as standard. Can I view my team site on an iPhone?Yes - We would recommend you use the WEB address for your site. The mobile address is configured for WAP phones. How much does it cost to view the mobile team website (WAP) on my phone?Teambug doesn't charge you to view your site. Most phone plans include some free data or internet browsing free. That said all mobile networks are different, so it's best to check with your mobile network if you are in doubt. What is the difference between Team Talk and Managers Comments?
What photos can I add to the gallery?You can add any photos you like but remember they can be viewed by the public. Take care not to offend anyone. You or your players should NOT submit material that is unlawful, obscene, defamatory, threatening, pornographic, harassing, hateful, racially or ethnically offensive, or encourages illegal conduct. See full Terms and Conditions. Can I upload photos that only my team can see - Private Gallery?Yes - When you or your players upload photos you can mark them public or private. Those that are marked private can ONLY be viewed if you have logged into your site. Can I add logo's of local company sponsors?Definitely - As long as you have an image of your sponsor's logo, just select "Our sponsors" and follow the simple steps. How do I change the colour of my team site?Select "Colour theme" and select the "theme" drop down menu. Select your preferred colour. Remember to SAVE your choice by clicking "Apply team colour". I am not allowed to save the team colour. Why is this?If you are on the "BASIC" package this feature is not available. It's easy to upgrade by updating your account details. Select "Your Account" to upgrade. Can I write about my club?Certainly - Just click "About my club" and add your required text. You might write who you are, who's in the team and when you started. If you have team ambitions here's the place to tell the world! ALL of the text can be viewed by the public so be careful. Can I have a Welcome Message on the home page of the website?Of course - Just click "Add/edit" welcome message and write your message to your fans and your team. This is all publicly viewable. Can I add my team's logo?Yes. Simply click the "Add/Edit" team logo and follow the simple steps. Browse your own PC's folders to use your own logo and crop it to the correct size. I am not allowed to access the logo creator. Why is this?If you are on the "BASIC" package this feature is not available. It's easy to upgrade by updating your account details. Select "Your Account" to upgrade. I don't have a logo - Can I create one?Absolutely - We have created a "Logo Creator". Click the "Create a logo" and simply select the pre-populated logos. We are adding some more logo templates shortly and will let you know when they are available. Can I upload a team photo?Yes, and you can also have it on the front page or your Team's web and mobile sites. Simple click "Add/Edit" team image and click browse to select your favourite team image. I don't have a team image the correct size for our sports team website?Not a problem. Simply upload a landscape image and use our image cropper to ensure you get the perfect fit. Simply stretch the outline box over your image and click save. Team communicationWhat is TeamTalk?TeamTalk is designed for communicating to the team via your sports team website Team talk is PRIVATE, so only your players will see what you write when they login to the team website. Use this for team's tactics, playing strategy or just general private team chit chat! What is a topic?A topic is a subject which you create, for example "Winning Next Week". You can manage your players using this tool by writing about how you think the team should perform, or how you want the team, or specific players to play. Your players can review this on the site and are able to respond and make their own comments. What are Managers Comments?These are PUBLIC and are designed for you to communicate with your team and also your fans. This is your chance to tell anyone who is interested about your plans for the coming season, or how you played last week. You could also update everyone on related team subjects like, team parties, functions and the like. Its your Team website. You decide….! Security
How can I tell my players about their Username and Password for the Team website?Simple, just select "messaging" and select "Message players". Choose "Login detail" and the suggested text with your username and password will be added to your message window. Remember ONLY send this to people who you want to access the PRIVATE sections of your site. This includes access to "Private" pictures, TeamTalk and Team contact details. Is the team information secure?Absolutely - We take personal information very seriously. All information is stored and encrypted to ensure only those with access rights can view this. You as the team manager set up passwords for you to access and for your team to access the private areas of your team website. Who can see the player information?Only the players name, photo and description will be publicly visible. All other information can only be viewed by the manager. Costs and account management
How much does Teambug cost?All Teambug features are completely FREE. All you pay for are the text messages you send! If you only send emails then Teambug is completely free!! If you do send text messages we have some simple pricing models at low rates.
See pricing for more details How do the packages differ?The AWAY / HOME packages offer exactly the same features, the main difference being the way you pay. HOME packs are paid on a monthly subscription and offer the best text message rates. AWAY packages are paid on a one-off basis. Does it cost my players to respond to my invites to play?No, we do not charge your players to reply to the messages. Replying to the message incurs a standard network charge. Does my text credit expire?There are two types of messages. 1. Free messages - Provided free as part your monthly subscription and are added each month on the anniversary of your registration. Each month Teambug refreshes your subscription messages so you start the month with your full allocation. 2. "Paid for" messages - If you pay on a one-off basis (i.e. Away 200/400) or buy messages in addition to your subscription these stay valid for 6mths. After this time they will be deleted. How do I cancel my subscription?Simple, just select "My Account" and click "Unsubscribe". Your cancellation will be processed within 24 hours and your payment subscription will cease. Note: You are still able to use Teambug for your team but your monthly free text bundles will cease. Why do I have two passwords?We are conscious about security. The manager has a password, which allows him/her access to the full suite of online sports management tools and access to manage the teams account. The manager also creates a Team site password. The team site password is to be used by your teammates/players to gain access to the "private" areas of the sports team website. Can I change my passwords?Yes - Just access "your account" and follow your account information pages. Select change password and follow the steps. Technical
Manager/Organiser - Do I need any special system requirements to access the online sports management tool?No not really - All you do need to is a have flash installed on your PC. Its pretty standard nowadays so it should be already on your PC. If not, its free to download from the web. Player/fans - Do I need any special system requirements to access the team website?Your team website is a normal website so nothing needed other than a web browser and internet connection. Access the team mobile website will require a WAP or mobile internet enabled phone. Some links don't seem to work in the team manager's site?Teambug uses a number for pop-up windows to perform key management tasks. As such you need to ensure any pop-up blockers are disabled or Teambug is added to your pop-up exceptions list. Team colours and logos appear in the pop-up window but are not being printed. How can I fix this?Depending on your browser (e.g Internet Explorer) you need to change the page set up, or advanced options to allow printing of background colours and images.
